The Basics

Power Problems
The pros:
Reasonably priced for what you get.
Lightweight and compact, easy to transport
Great screen display and keyboard layout
No problems with speed, loading programs, etc.

The Cons:
Gets very, very hot in and out of the case.
Vista... need I say more?
After 14 months, the computer wouldn't power up. The power supply had come disconnected from the main system board and I had to pay 400 bucks to get it repaired. Even though this is a known problem, Toshiba refused to help. I am filing a claim with my credit card company to see if their extended warranty will cover the cost.
Customer service. It took 3 phone calls to get someone that I could understand and that could understand me. It felt as if they were reading form letters in response to what I was asking... none of it made sense or was helpful. Normally I would have purchased an extended warranty but have heard nightmares about Amazon.com's warranties so I stayed away from the whole issue. That was a mistake, I should have purchased one from Toshiba... although I wonder after dealing with their customer service.

Great Computer - Still checking the operation of Vista
The computer is very good this is my 7th or 8th Toshiba Laptop.
The Windows Vista I am getting use to it, but promisse pretty good things.Try to transfer files from my old to my new, with the new features of the Vista, but the conection did not work.
Do not know if the falt on the top right screen is due to softwares or the computer.
